END OF ABEYANCE/PAUSE IN THE UNIFIED
HOPI SCHOOL SYSTEM
On June 25, 2025, the Hopi Tribal Council approved a Tribal Resolution submitted by the Hopi Office of General Counsel which ended the abeyance/pause in the unified Hopi School System, resuming the transition to the unified Hopi School System.
Information meetings are currently being scheduled with local schools and school boards to answer any questions, discuss the upcoming Hopi Board of Education election, and provide information on next steps in the transition to the unified Hopi School System.

HOPI TRIBAL COUNCIL APPROVES HBE BYLAWS
On May 3, 2022, the Hopi Tribal Council approved the HBE Bylaws by unanimous vote. Click here for a copy of the approved Bylaws.
HOPI TRIBAL COUNCIL APPROVES CENTRAL OFFICE SUBLEASE
On May 3, 2022, the Hopi Tribal Council approved the Sublease Agreement for the Central Administration Office at the Hopi Junior Senior High School campus by a unanimous vote. This Sublease Agreement will allow for the placement of three modulars, which have already been approved by the Bureau of Indian Education, to be placed on the site and will be the home of the Hopi School System's Central Administration Office.

The Hopi Board of Education meets on the Third Wednesday of each Month at 5:30 p.m. by Zoom. Click on the "Meetings" page for up-to-date meeting details.
TRANSITION TEAM MONTHLY PUBLIC MEETING
The Transition Team meets on the Second Monday of each Month at 5:30 p.m. by Zoom.
